Bee Kind Tees didn’t start as a business idea — it started as a feeling. A mix of frustration, hope, and the constant urge to do something that matters. Let me rewind a little.

Before Bee Kind Tees, I poured my heart into two startups I was incredibly passionate about. The first was Tradle, a zero-waste model for baby clothes that aimed to make life easier for parents while reducing waste. The second was an app designed to help women working alone feel safer with tools for personal security. Both projects meant the world to me, but like so many small businesses, they didn’t make it through the pandemic.

After that chapter closed, I leaned on my background in healthcare, specifically Botox and cosmetics — an industry that thrived even during uncertain times. While I was grateful for the stability, I couldn’t shake the itch to create something new. I wanted to build a business that felt meaningful and gave back to causes I cared deeply about.

That’s when the idea for Bee Kind Tees blossomed. I envisioned a brand that combined creativity with purpose, where each shirt would contribute to positive change.

But was I crazy? My schedule was already packed — designing for clinics, a board member at the local art gallery, homeschooling two kids, not to mention two dogs and several pet rocks. But the idea of Bee Kind Tees wouldn't let go. When I shared it with two of my longtime friends, their enthusiasm was immediate and infectious. They jumped on board without hesitation, and their support eased my anxiety about taking on too much. Together, we are a women-led team, balancing the joys and terrors of motherhood with our entrepreneurial aspirations.
